It is now 2017 and yet even after a federal ruling legalized same-sex marriages, there are still states in the United States that are trying to ban homosexual couples to marry one another. Our country was founded on the premise of equal rights for all and marriage is a basic, fundamental right.

Not only are we less progressive than these countries in terms of equal gay and lesbian rights, but some of our states actually discriminate against these people solely based on their sexual preference.
